Privacy Policy
Last updated: [DATE]
This policy explains what information BiteDraft ("BiteDraft," "we," "us") processes when you use the BiteDraft app, and how it's handled. BiteDraft doesn't require an account, and we've tried to keep what we collect to the minimum needed to make the app work.
What we process
When you generate a reply, the message text you paste (and a photo, if you attach one) is sent from the app to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API to produce reply suggestions. If you use AI Chat mode for a question that needs current information, that request may also use Anthropic's web search tool. We do not store the content of your messages or generated replies on our servers after the response is returned to your device.
What stays on your device
Your reply history, pinned styles, custom personas, and any "memory" notes a persona has learned are stored locally on your device (and shared between the app, its keyboard, and its Share Sheet extension via an app group container). None of this is uploaded to us. Deleting the app, or clearing history in-app, removes it.
Your own API key (BYOK)
If you add your own Anthropic API key in Settings, it's stored in your device's Keychain, never on our servers. It's sent with each request so Anthropic bills your account instead of ours, and it is never logged or persisted server-side. Use of your own key is also subject to Anthropic's own terms and privacy practices for your account.
Subscriptions and payment
Subscriptions are sold and billed entirely through Apple's App Store (StoreKit). We never see or store your payment card details, Apple ID, or billing address, Apple handles that as the payment processor. Managing or cancelling a subscription is done through your Apple ID account settings, not in BiteDraft.
Third parties we share data with
- Anthropic (Claude API): processes the message text and any attached photo you submit, to generate reply suggestions.
- Apple: processes subscription payments and app distribution as the platform provider.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use advertising or ad-tracking SDKs.
Children's privacy
BiteDraft is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Security
Requests between the app and our server are encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Your optional API key is stored using iOS Keychain, the platform's secure credential storage.
Your choices
- Delete individual entries or clear all reply history from within the app.
- Remove your saved API key at any time in Settings.
- Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
